4 Main Poisions of the Heart

Posted in islam by lailanasheeba on the January 10, 2008

Subhanallah.  So many Muslims suffer from poisons of the heart and if the heart is corrupt, the entire body is corrupt.  We need to work on purifying our heart against detriments such as envy, jeolousy, hatred and the likes.  Inshallah this video lecture given will help in that.

One of the worst poisons is too much talk.  So many Muslims waste their time with too much useless talk – especially on the internet.  Chats on Paltalk for example are filled with hundreds of Muslims all claiming to be giving dawah when in reality most all of them need to learn Islam.

I conducted an experiment this year for a book I am writing about the dangers of the Internet.  During the month of Ramadan, I went onto Paltalk to see how many Muslims remained there and how many decided to actually turn the computer button off.  I was surprised to find that the same people continued their same habits and no changes were made during this month for most.  What was even more startling was that even during the last 10 days of ramadan, the same men sat in the same spot talking and doing the same routine as if ramadan was not even a month at all.  I joined a few of those chat rooms and asked the men why they were not at the Masjid doing itakaf since they had all this free time on the hands.  The response I got was a kick and ban from most of those rooms. This is what inspired me to give this lecture.

Sister Laila, maashaAllah what a wonderful lecture a wonderful reminder for myself about the dangers of the tongue. How easy it is to fall prey to the tongue.Being reminded to keep the rememberance of Allah SWT on our lips is very important.MaashaAllah “learning how to refrain this ” as the prophet Muhammad SAW said ,is a very deep statement subahanAllah.” Ya Allah “abandoning that which does not concern me ….oh Sis Laila subahanAllah I so needed to hear this lecture and all I can say is wa’lhamdulillah sister,oh my God and when you talked about the food subahanAllah is another thing that really touched me because I know this is something that is happening to so many people these days .May Allah SWT reward you greatly sis for the works that you do and continue to protect you from the evils of this dunya Sis Laila and reward you with Paradise…ameen

p.s.a wonderful reminder about the gaze not being lowered is as if it’s a poison dart in my eye,Ya Allah and when you said “that glance could stand between me and the paradise ” that was so deep I got goose bumps when I heard this, subahanAllah.May Allah SWT protect us all.Ameen

  2. MashaAllah… Yes I love this lecture as well. So many wonderful reminders. The part about choosing your friends wisely.. oh so true. If we actually put this in practice.. asking ourselves.. is the person like food for me.. or medicine.. we would be more cautious in choosing our friends and would be surrounded with more believers.

Thank you for your kind words and I pray my lectures continue to be right on cue!

    Aslam Alaikum Sister laila nasheeba

Great videos. May I ask why Allah sub`hanahu wata ala has given so much wealth, happiness and power to the non- believers in this world? I think I read somewhere that Allah has allowed Satan to be the King of this world?

Also do you have a lecture on the Angel of Death?

  4. Allah tells us in the Quran that he gives wealth to some as a trial to others. A trial or test to see of you can remain firm in your belief. In reality the wealth lies with the Muslims brother – they are the ones who own the oil. In regards to happiness, this is a state of mind that anyone can attain if he truly believes in Allah.

The lecture entitled “What does it mean to believe in Allah” speaks about the angels.

So many Muslims have become disloyal to Allah. You go to a mosque to pray and there are so few people praying. People are more interested in making money and going to work and paying too much attention to this world and not the hereafter.

The typical attitude is we’ll only start praying when we reach old age i.e. 60 and Allah will forgive our sins.
