I pray but I have a problem and would appreciate your guidance.

If I experience a problem in life or difficulty I sometimes stop praying because I end up being disillusioned. Where I am going wrong?

  2. This is because you do not truly believe in Allah as you should. The only way to cure this is by seeking knowledge of your deen. I suggest you join our Aqeedah classes everyday at 2pm EST which helps to increase your Iman. Join our website at http://www.sunnahfollowers.net and participate in all the classes there to learn your religion.

    Dear Sister Laila,

I think this lecture on Al-Qadr was very informative, especially the distinction you have made between Qada and Qadr (taken separately and combined).

As it is the holy month of Ramadan and we are in the last ten days of this blessed month and are approaching “The Night of Decree”; I thought I would take this opportunity to request a lecture on the merits of this night as discussed by the Scholars of Islam (with particular emphasis on hadith and tafsir).

I think that would be very beneficial to the Muslim ummah and particularly our community of Muslim sisters, coming from a lady like you.

    JazakAllahu Khair

  4. Wa Alaikoum Salaam,

Thank you for your kind words. Yes I have spent the entire month of ramadan teaching and lecturing on its importance including the night of decree and the virtues of the last ten days and the likes. You can download and listen to the recording from the classes at this link here:

oh sis, you mean if something goes wrong it is because Allah either wants to teach us or wants to test us.Right, sis? So you gotta keep patient and learn.sis, forgive my ignorance,..my parents really confused me. i guess i should have just asked somebody like u, before going so confused, they really do not believe in lowering the gaze they think it is a lack of confidence and they think wearing the abaya is an invitation to some christian to shoot me. i really tried telling them that if Allah is given the hidaya to cover and klower the gaze then He has everything in His plan. Also, i told them that no one can touch me until Allah wills. am i nuts? they really dont listen. they say no no u r turning into an extremist???? they really do not think about what a lack of modesty will do to me as a person. i really tried to make them understand. but they just suggested i go see a psychiatrist. then my mum said i have seen so many girls who wear an abaya who look straight at men when they are walking. and kept telling her that i cant do something wrong if somebody else is doing it. sis, am i wrong? i really hate watching men i dont know. i have found my iman and khushoo to increase manifold when i do, i have looking at them in the face really makes me very uncomfy–honestly, i turn my head away. i cant help it. it really makes me so unhappy. i have seen so many guys lower their gaze around me when they go to the masjid, they can follow modesty and when i follow it, it is wrong? they keep saying you look very weird when you walk looking at the path evrytime a guy passes. its not my fault i cant correct evryone in the society and if u see the mumineen have been considered weird by everyone. my parents make fun of covered women and it was shocking for them to see me so shy around strange men,
