Hadiths explaining how the verse: “”If you fear that you shall not be able to deal justly with the orphan girls…” (4.3) was revealed in regards to a man who married an orphan girl and refused to give her a dowry. Also the verse: O you who believe! You are forbidden to inherit women against their will, and you should not treat them with harshness that you may take back part of the (Mahr) dower you have given them.” How it was revealed as a means of stopping men from inheriting widows.
