“Verily, when Allah created Adam, He said to him: “Go to those individuals from among the angels and give salutations of peace to them and listen to what they inform you, for it is your salutation and that of your descendants.” So he said:
“As- Salamu ‘Alaikum” (May the Peace of Allah be upon you).” And they replied:
“Wa ‘Alaikumus-Salamu Wa Rahmatullah” (May the Peace of Allah and His Mercy be upon you). So they added: “Wa Rahmatullah” (and His Mercy).”
