The Lawful and Unlawful – Living Extravagantly defined!

“Our Lord, forgive me my sin, make my house spacious, and bless me in my sustenance.” He was asked, “O Messenger of Allah, why do you supplicate so often in these words?” He replied, “Is anything left out?”

Lecture speaks of how the home can be as lavish and beautiful as one wants as long as he or she can afford it and is not wasteful. Extravagance is to live above one’s means and buy what one doesn’t need as a means of impressing other than Allah.
